Features - S.O.A.R. boasts many powerfull features added to the product as it evolved over time. The unique design allows several club members to each enter one or more log sheet(s). These can then be e-mailed to the club treasurer for importing into the master database. This helps spread the workload when, say, the treasurer is on holiday or the club is busy running courses. (or just to give the treasurer a break)
The following list describes the major features. | Winch, Aerotow and SLMG log sheets with automatic calculation of cost of flights. | | User defined launch rates for winch, aerotow and SLMG. | | Cost sharing (Splits the cost of a single flight between two members flying together) | | Group Accounts allow for all flights for a set of members to be charged to a single account. (Ie. Familly, Scouts, University Etc.) | | Day book records credits and sundry debits. | | Manage hangerage and trailer parking. | | Moniter pilot and instructor flying time and currency. | | Produce account statements for current members. | | E-mail monthly statements to members. | | Password protection for club-house use. | | Macro keys allow repetative entries to be entered with a single key press. | | Unique feature allows instant creation of 'Party Log sheet' (I.e generate a series of identical launches as the basis for, say, AEI party). | | E-mail support included. | | Data conversion from existing software package subject to analysis. | | 70 page manual. |
You define soaring charges in the following ways: - - Winch - Launch fee (option to offer cheaper launch earlier in the day) with soaring fees based on individual aircraft on a minute by minute charge (multiple charge bands allow for varying rates as the flight progresses)
E.g. Say you charge a launch fee of £4.50 + the first 5 minutes with no soaring fees (lets say included in the cost of launch) + 23p/minute for the first hour and say, 15p/minute beyond this time. This is an example, you set whatever rates and time bands you require!
- Aerotow - A launch fee based on the release height with soaring fees based on individual aircraft on a minute by minute charge (multiple charge bands allow for varying rates as the flight progresses)
E.g. Launch to 2000' costs, say, £15.00 + no soaring fees as this is a private aircraft. This is an example, you set whatever rates and time bands you require!
- Self Launching Motor Glider - Flights calculated on flying time (chock-to-chock or airborne) on a minute by minute rate. Again user configurable time bands allow foralmost any charging scheme. E.g. A club member flies the club Falke for 30 minutes charged at,say, 55p/minute
