The package has been developed by professional software developers who also fly gliders. Provided free of charge and Written to run on almost any hardware platform.

Members and aircraft are registered along with membership rates, soaring charges (pence per minute) and launch rates. (winch, aerotow and SLMG)

Users then enter the Log Sheets at the end of the day and the software automatically calculates the cost of each flight, updating members accounts and generating individual monthly statements when required.

The Day Book allows other charges to be made to members accounts and also the entry of credits. Membership fees, trailer parking and other ad-hoc charges can then be recorded against a members account. Statements can be run at the month end and printed on paper to be posted/handed to members or automatically e-mailed to members who are recorded with a valid e-mail address.
Basic data entry and reporting are DOS based allowing even the oldest PC to be used in the clubhouse.
(Note: Statement e-mails have been developed to run under Microsoft Windows and will only run under Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT4, XP and 2000.)

The system was originally developed for the Northumbria Gliding Club back in the early 90's but as the club requirements and charging schemes evolved it became necessary to enhance SOAR so that new charging schemes could be created without the need to involve a programmer.
As a result, the application is very flexible and can be configured to accommodate most methods of costing a launch, both winch and aero-tow.

SOAR is a free software package - stable and glexible - but provided without any warranty. If however, your club would like support then please contact us and we can arrange a custom package and/or enhancements to suite your needs.
